Autumn equinox, Celtic sacred feast of Mabon: time of balance between astral and terrestrial energies.
The astrological frame of the 2024 Autumn Equinox shows an exact grand trine between Moon Sun and Pluto on the cusps between Earth signs and Air signs and, at the same time, an opposition between Mercury/Virgo and Saturn/Pisces. A tendency to an energy change under the influence of impulses both for harmonious and sensitive action and for rational confrontation.
In the Celtic calendar Mabon marks the time of the beginning of the decline of luminous energy and the growth of dark forces, the Sun God prepares for his sacrifice and Man celebrates the closing rites of the biological and cultural cycles by using the typically traditional plants of this period: hazelnut, acorns, oak shoots, autumn leaves, ears of wheat, cypress cuddles, pine cones.
Feng Shui can also use these species and their parts to balance Earth-Heaven interactions according to the Ba Gua and Compass schemes. In particular, the most important plant species to take into consideration as an extraordinary Feng Shui remedy is the hazelnut, a magical plant par excellence, a tree of wisdom, sacred to Thor; its fruits bring protection, luck and fertility.
The azimuthal position of the planets for the Feng Shui balance of the autumn equinox indicates a dominance of energies between southwest, northwest and east; it will therefore be important to bring the vegetal elements indicated above, especially fruits, leaves and ears, to the south-west where, at the equinoctial moment, Mercury is also found opposite Saturn.
To complete the Feng Shui contribution, some therapeutic stones can also be used, in particular in the north-west and east directions where adularia (aligned with the Moon) and obsidian (aligned with Pluto) respectively could be effective , at the Equinox moment.
